-Sunset Park Place Adds New Space!
Spring 2010 marks the completion of a beautiful new expansion and remodeling project at Sunset Park Place Retirement Community, including the addition of a Formal Dining Room and a private Family Dining Room. We have also enhanced the Weland Gardens Memory Care area with two luxury suites/private bathrooms as well as extended our common resident areas (Living Room/Dining Room) for our residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. - “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” on Monday, August 30th from 3:00-4:00 PM. A special presentation by Executive Editor of the Telegraph Herald, Brian Cooper on the life and career of Hall of Fame pitcher, Red Faber. The public is welcome to join us for this special event at no charge.
- “Shades of Silver Fine Arts Festival” on Saturday, September 25th from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. “Shades of Silver” is our 2nd annual Art Show celebrating the creative work of artists, 55 years of age and older. All mediums are welcome. Submitted work must be registered by September 10th. Click here to reproduce an official Registration Form. The public is welcome to attend this special event to enjoy the Art Show/gallery, live entertainment, demonstrations and refreshments.

Sunset Park Place Honored
Sunset Park Place Retirement Community received the Iowa Assisted Living Association's 2005 Outstanding Property of the Year Award. This designation is presented annually to only one of 55 IALA properties. The award was presented to Sunset Park place based on its outstanding performance, including consistently high occupancy, innovative renovations or remodeling, special events, awards received and tenant comments. Jerry Bell is the manager and Karen Clapham is the Health Services Coordinator.
